LEIRE PARISH COUNCIL
| Minutes of the Annual General Meeting of Leire Parish Council held on Tuesday 18th May 2004 in the Village Hall commencing at 7.30p.m. | |
| Those present:- Mrs J. Goodwin, Mr. P. Pickering, Mr. K. Brown, Mr. F. Lambert, County Councillor Mr. D. Jennings, District Councillor Mr,. P. Fuchs, Mrs R. Bones (Clerk) and two members of the general public. | |
| 4424 | Minutes of the previous meeting held on Tuesday 20th April 2004 were read and approved. It was proposed by Mr. K. Brown and seconded by Mr. P. Pickering that these were a true record. |
| RESOLVED: That they be duly signed. | |
| 4425 | Election of Chairman – It was proposed by Mr. F. Lambert and seconded by Mr. P. Pickering that Mrs June Goodwin be chairman for a further year. All agreed to this office and Mrs Goodwin then signed the Book of Declaration. |
| 4426 | Election of Vice Chairman – It was proposed by Mr. F. Lambert and seconded by Mr. K. Brown that Mr. P. Pickering take up this office. All agreed and Mr. Pickering signed the Book of Declaration. |
| Matters Arising | |
| i) | Street Light – Station Lane/Oak Avenue – Mr. Fuchs reported to the meeting that he had spoken with HDC who had stated that they would be in touch with us. Mr. Fuchs will speak again with HDC to try at resolve this situation. |
| Mr. Jennings and Mr Fuchs then had to leave this meeting to attend a meeting at Ashby Magna. Mrs Goodwin thanked them for attending the Annual Open Parish Meeting which had been the first meeting of the evening. | |

| i) | Allotment – Mr & Mrs Lucas have acknowledged that they wish to take over one of the allotments and that they have now started work on the land. |
| ii) | The Local Development Scheme – Unfortunately the Local Village Plan did not materialise and this letter will be held in the Planning File for reference. |
| iii) | Swift Valley Partnership – A letter has been received from Mr. Singer enquiring when the Draft Statutory Declaration is ready. Mrs Goodwin reported that she had received a draft but this is to be amended and forwarded back to Jackson and Co. A letter is to be sent to Mr. Singer advising that the draft declaration is in hand and we will inform him as soon as we have further news. |

| iv) | HDC – Seminar on the New Planning System – Circulated. |
| v) |
Street Light – A letter via Leicestershire County Council from Mr. D. Crane has been receivd advising that the street lamp is out in Little Lane. An instruction card will be forwarded to ABB advising them that of this. Mr. Crane also stated that a number of vehicles entering Little Lane are using his courtyard as a turning area. A letter is to be written to Highway Partnership asking for a No Through Road sign for Little Lane similar to that for Wales Orchard. |
