LEIRE PARISH COUNCIL 

Minutes of the Annual General Meeting of Leire Parish Council held on Tuesday 20th April 2004 in the Village Hall commencing at 7.30p.m.
Those present:-   Mr. P. Pickering, Mr. K. Brown, Mr. F. Lambert, Mrs R. Bones (Clerk).  Apologies were received from Mrs June Goodwin and County Councillor Mr. David Jennings.
In the absence of the Chairman Mrs Goodwin the Vice Chairman Mr. Frank Lambert took the chair.
Mr. Lambert welcomed Mrs Barbara Whitcombe to the meeting.   Mrs Whitcombe is our local Broughton Area Enforcement Officer.   Mr Lambert invited her to speak to the meeting and all present were very interested in her daily tasks within the community.   Mr. Lambert thanked her for coming and looked forward to working with her over the coming months.   Mrs Whitcombe can be contacted on 07766 498275.
4416 Minutes of the previous meeting held on Tuesday 30th March 2004 were read and approved.   It was proposed by Mr. K. Brown and seconded by Mr. P. Pickering that these were a true record.
RESOLVED:  That they be duly signed.
4417 Matters Arising
i) The clerk reported to the meeting that Mr. Vials of Form Weld Limited has asked if the council would like to review the drawings before proceeding with the car park barrier.   The barrier height will be a clearance of 2.3 metres.
It was decided to go ahead without seeing drawings.
ii) In the absence of Mr. Fuchs, the outcome on the street lamp at the end of Oak Avenue/Station Lane is still unknown.
4418 Correspondence
i) Allotment – The annual rent from Mrs B. Lloyd has been received and she has stated that she does not wish to make use of the allotment this year.    A letter will be sent to Mrs Lucas of Wales Orchard advising that this allotment is now available for rent.   The usual terms, first year free followed by an annual payment which at present stands at £10.00.

ii) New Leicestershire Events Guide – A number of leaflets which promote over 300 events being run by the library, museum and Country parks service from April until August 2004 has been received.   Many of the events are FREE, these leaflets will be passed to Mrs Gamble for people to take from the Post Office.
iii) Rural Community Council – Completed survey re amenities within the village.
iv) Leics.& Rutland Playing Fields Assoc. – Information about two Playground Inspection Training Courses on Tuesday 15th and 29th June 2004 – No one is able to attend.   Mr. Pickering stated he had looked at the Play area and has noted areas that need attention which he will undertake
