LEIRE PARISH COUNCIL 

Minutes of the meeting of Leire Parish Council held on Tuesday 22nd February 2005 in the Village Hall commencing at 7.30pm.

Those present:-   Mrs June Goodwin,  Mr F. Lambert, Mr. P. Pickering and Mrs R. Bones (Clerk).
Apologies were received from Mr. K. Brown, Mrs J. Gamble, District Councillor Mr. Fuchs and County Councillor Mr. D. Jennings.

4485 Minutes of the previous meeting held on Tuesday 18th January 2005 were read and approved.   It was proposed by Mr P. Pickering and seconded by Mr. F. Lambert that these were a true record.
RESOLVED:  That they be duly signed.
4486 Matters Arising - None
4487 Correspondence
i) Jackson and Co – The Estate of the Lave Avery Elizabeth Redfern “The Slang” – Mrs Goodwin has received a letter from Jackson and Co in connection with “The Slang” and The Parish Council have agreed that this piece of land can now be sold.

ACTION:  Clerk

ii) LCC – Back Lane, Leire – A letter has been received from LCC stating that an additional sign will be provided “Unsuitable for HGV’s” at the north end of Back Lane where the road narrows.   It was also reported that the carriageway at the tight bend is to be cut back and cleared.   At the time of this meeting the work had not been carried out.
iii) APLC – January Update
iv) HDC – Conservation Area Boundary Review 2005 – This information will be studied and returned

v) Macmillan Cancer Relief – A letter has been received requesting a donation to this cause.  It was agreed to send £20.00.

vi) The Licensing Act 2003 – Information for Businesses – This to be placed on file.

Parishioners Participation

i) Concern has been expressed over the number of rabbits on Jubilee Walk and the Playing Field.   A local farmer has complained as they are eating his corn.   The legal liability of this problem is to be investigated and ways in which the issue an be resolved.

4491 Playing Field – Correspondence has been the rector in connection with the rent for the Playing Field.    This is being looked at and will be discussed further at the next meeting.
